The first thing I would like to say about the ordinary mind is, treat yourself with an “ordinary mind “. The most basic thing is to realize that everyone, including yourself, is an ordinary person.

Whenever you interact with people, don’t be there primarily as a function or a role, but as a field of conscious Presence.

“When I see a man ... I see the only entity in nature with which sanctity is associated. The particular individual may not be dear to me—in fact, I may even dislike him. But he is dear to someone else, to his mother, for example, although that, too, is not the reason for his eminence. For even if nobody cares for him, he is still a human being.”

That is a very deep question: How do we “do” the doing of nothing? How do we be, as a verb, the depth of our being?

Think to yourself: I’m just here to create.

itself. To be a minister is to be kenotic, self-emptying (not youthful, hip, or authentic). If it is not kenotic, then ministry is disconnected from the divine being and is something other than ministry.

We will learn that the true purpose of life is not something we are here to do, rather it is something we are here to be.

The real work of the artist is a way of being in the world.

We are conditioned to believe that in order to be productive and successful we must be constantly doing something. This belief, which forms the basis of modern society, is quite insane. We are not human doings; we are human beings.
