Thiel can identify heterodox thinkers who aren’t blinded by Mimetic dogmas or intellectual fashions. He insists that there are still secrets left to uncover. Some are small and incremental. But the most valuable secrets are big enough to shake the world.

We increasingly believe that progress is inevitable. Progress, though, is not guaranteed. We must work for it. Otherwise, our living standards will not improve, and may get worse. 

Some have claimed that virtual garments will surpass physical but I don't believe that will ever happen. I do however think we can expect to see digital techniques and an aesthetic established in the virtual world informing the structure and finishes of products IRL.

The nomad community is uniquely placed to understand what people need from the global layer. New global products, services, institutions, governance, and more. This is what SafetyWing – the initiators of the Plumia project – does: It builds a global layer on top of the health insurance systems that already exist.

In job interviews, Thiel famously asks: “What very important truth do very few people agree with you on?”

We all form our identity by looking towards others. Since everybody copies, we can improve society by encouraging people to copy the right people.
