If we apply an inquisitive eye to hope, we see that it is directly linked to fear.

The way to recognize a fear response is when you feel yourself trying to hide or trying to prove. We prove and hide every day without being aware of this coping mechanism.

In acting, understanding a character’s fears is a critical part of understanding his or her psyche. The fears create desires and the desires precipitate actions.
