it’s a special kind of person who can get infuriated by someone raising so much cash for victims of domestic abuse. Though, believe me, those very special kinds of people do exist.
I am not a sexist. I’ve actually got a friend who’s a woman, so I can’t be sexist. I believe women should be treated as if they’re equal.
These men are angry at something, but they don’t know what, exactly. It’s easier for them to blame people who are different to them than it is to blame themselves, or more pertinently the system that has encouraged them to bottle up their feelings and made them dispensable.
Nobody else has the right balance of madness, pomposity, determination, comedy chops, staying power and hubris to make this quest work. I am cursed, but it has to be ME.
Notions of masculinity vary so much both historically and culturally that it’s nonsensical to talk about it in absolute terms.
