The Most Precious Resource is Agency

Democracy expanded the power to choose our leader. Corporations expanded our power to choose our employers. Entrepreneurship expands your power to design your life. You are a part of the first generation that has radical access to the tools of production. Rather than choosing from a set of options, you can design your own.

Revisiting Fromm’s definition, “the full realization of the individual’s potential, together with his ability to live actively and spontaneously,” we see that developing our own sense of agency is vital.⁠9 Thus, figuring out what to do with your time is a real concern.

This begins by acknowledging the age in which we live. Today we don’t have to wait to be noticed. This is a time when it’s possible to make your own breaks and set yourself up for success—if you are willing to do the work. Share your competency with those who can help your work spread.
