0.1 seconds is the limit for feeling that the system is reacting instantaneously. 1 second is the limit for the user’s flow of thought to stay uninterrupted, even though the user will notice the delay. 10 seconds is the limit for keeping attention focused on the ongoing interaction.

This calls for an attractive, pleasant environment so that in normal monitoring, the operators are creative and open to explore new situations.
