Quieting the lizard brain
Saved by Supritha S
Your lizard brain is working overtime to get you to shut up, sit down, and do your (day) job. It will invent stories, illnesses, emergencies, and distractions in order to keep the genius bottled up.
It is afraid of what will happen to you if the ideas get out, if your gifts are received, if the magic happens.
However, we also want to keep in mind that our primitive brains aren’t so great at discerning between real safety and a threat to our discomfort or self-image. This means that most of the time we’re playing it far safer than we need to. And strangely enough, it’s our desire to avoid screwing up that often screws things up.
This is why we shouldn’t listen too closely to what other people say (or to what the voice in our head says, either). We’ll find ourselves erring on the side of accomplishing nothing.
