Critical thinking is always difficult, but it’s almost impossible when we are scared. There’s no room for facts when our minds are occupied by fear.
the apparent safety that redundancy provides can lead people to make sloppy decisions. They may assume—incorrectly—that even if something goes wrong, there’s a fail-safe in place. Redundancy, in other words, can’t be a substitute for good design.
