What if an economic diagram can treat economic units as permeable membranes instead of enclosed boxes? What if it portrays the economy as a more interdependent, rhizomatic web of connections? What if a line can be used not as a border, but more as an entanglement like that of a cat playing with yarns?

There are secular tailwinds too: automation is driving a shift towards more empathetic, creative work; trust is shifting to individuals versus institutions; and users are more familiar with subscription business models and increasingly willing to pay directly (rather than through their attention on ads) for unique access and expertise.

By encouraging contemporary art museums to experiment with similar value flow curation, we hope to initiate a friendly, positive-sum competition among cultural institutions to connect in deeper ways with the material conditions of art workers and audiences.
