That resistance is an act of will. Will is an innate power you have—it is actually a power that emanates from consciousness. Just as the Sun stays where it is in space, but it emanates rays that have great power, so consciousness remains at its source, but its awareness emanates out onto whatever it focuses on.

Deeper still, the lower self mainfests as our collective attachment to control and separateness. Ultimately, the lower self is whatever in us obstructs the free and focused flow of divine energy—love and truth—through our being.
