Instead, you must directly apply your labor to meeting your needs in such a way that you become invested in that solution, in the very literal sense that you depend on it, so that when the powers-that-be threaten it, you’re prepared to defend it. If we manage to shift towards a more and more equitable distribution of the consequences, then we will be able to be in right relationship with each other and the living world upon which we depend. We will reorganize our cultures and cosmologies. We will “remember our way forward.” If you stick your fingers in the soil and you attempt to actually f
