We might summarize these four major points like this: God, man, Christ, and response.

perseverance produces character (Rom. 5:4). This word occurs only six or seven times in the Bible, and it means “proven reliable.”

Precisely because (so Christians believe) God wants every single Christian to grow up in understanding as well as trust, the Christian faith has never been something that one generation can sort out in such a way as to leave their successors with no work to do.

In Acts 1:8 Jesus gave us a pattern for involvement: “You will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world.”17 His followers were to reach out to their community (Jerusalem), to their country (Judea), to other cultures (Samaria), and to other nations (everywhere in the world). Note that our commission

spiritual fruit, and that is what God talks about in Galatians 5:22 – 23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” These nine qualities describe the character of a fruitful, productive Christian.

If I have a part of my life that I will not bring in submission to Jesus, if I will not obey Him in every way, I am not His friend.

Righteousness means, in the Bible, not merely right conduct, but right thinking on all subjects, in every department of life.
