People are experts about their passions, and they love what they are into. Knowing their passions will open up doors if you are sensitive to them. Collect passions and nourish possibilities of those who love them.

Remember this: collect the passions of those you meet. When you are collecting people and gathering business cards, ask about people’s passions. Then write on the back of his/her business card what their passion is and include this information in the notes section of your database, along with their contact information.

What is an “opportunity magnet?” This is someone who stands out. This person really knows who they know, enabling them to mine relationships.

How do you mine relationships? Each person you know or meet metaphorically is a mine that contains knowledge, connections, and a source of possibilities. The more you know about that person and the more you memorialize what you know by databasing who they are, the more likely that relationship will bring value to you.
