Report: Top 10 companies made 65% of global games market in 2021

The global video games industry is estimated to be worth $120B in 2018, bigger than the movie ($41B) and music ($19B) industries combined, with an estimated 2.5B players.

According to Microsoft, there are around 2 billion players in the world, all platforms taken into account. The industry has grown rapidly from $55.8 Bn in 2012 up to an impressive $152.1Bn in 2019, a CAGR of 15,4%! Consumer spending on games is expected to grow to $196 Bn by 2022 🤯

Last year, $174.9 billion was spent on video games, having grown +19.6% year-on-year. For context, that is 2x the revenue of film and music combined.
