These emotions do not inspire bold thinking or entrepreneurial leaps, they breed conformity and the cult of the minimal variation, the turning out of products which very closely resemble those that are already successful.
A capitalist society benefits from you feeling insecure, from you being lonely. The more lonely and insecure you feel, the more you believe the idea that you need those new skincare products, that big house, that flashy car. Maybe, if you look like that movie star, people will flock to you and provide that feeling of being wanted that we all crave.
